April Boy Regino is a Filipino singer. Aside from being a singer, he is a certified hitmaker and a genuine performer. He is well known for his choreographic singing ,which is swagger, crossed arms and cap as his trademark. This cannot be duplicated by any and he captured the hearts of the aficionados. No wonder, he is dubbed as the ”Idol Ng Masa”.

April Boy Regino is Caloocan native. And such a "rags to riches" story, his life started in the railroad side shanty, April boy is the fourth sibling of eight of Regino and Lucena Bariso Regino. At an early age of ten, he became the family’s breadwinner. Possessing an exceptional talent, April Boy decided to join almost all amateur singing contests there.

With this burning passion,  April boy  never stopped improving his talents. In fact, he went to Japan to nurture his God-given talents. He became famous through April Boys as one of the sibling trio on mid 90’s. Eventually, he pursued to a solo career in which he is very successful.

Aside from being just a singer, April Boy Regino also experimented himself as a composer.

However, despite of  his success, April Boy Regino admitted that  two years that he is afflicted with Prostate Cancer. The singer publicly confirmed his sickness through Lhar Santiago of GMA7’s 24 oras last August 16 2012.

In his interview, April boy recalled his devastating experience when he first knew hissickness in 2009 when he and his family are still living in the US. After his being diagnosed with the serious disease, his family were shocked and April Boy admitted he almost lost hope.

A statement from April boy "sinabi ng doctor na lalaki, noong una lalaki, sabi niya, prostate cancer ‘yan. Tapos siyempre natakot na ako, cancer, eh. Sabi ko, ‘paano kaya iyon?” revealed by the singer.

While keeping his true situation to the public, April Boy decided to give in to his son’s dream to follow his footsteps and become a singer. It is his passion to fulfill his son's dream, so they went back to the Philippines from the United States for this reason,. “Siya, pangarap niya maging singer, ‘di ba?  Sabi ko, ‘Sige, bago ako mamatay, palagay ko uwi muna tayo sa Pilipinas para matupad ‘yung pangarap mong maging singer ka.” April Boy told his son.

As his own story goes  for cancer treatment, he was healed here in the Philippines through a pure barley product that was given to him by his brother-in-law.  When asked about his current situation, if he has recovered from his cancer, April Boy said that he feels he has controlled it with the help of this  herbal drink.
